Pegasus is the vision of Dr. Mark Dedomenico, who combines a medical background as a preeminent heart surgeon with 40 years of experience in the equine business. Dr. Dedomenico has owned a training facility since 1970.
Pegasus realizes his dream of a premier spa for horses -- devoted to the highest medical standards, supporting the latest training methods, and staffed by experts who share his passion for these magnificent athletes.
A background in private business, board of directors publicly traded corporation, federal government operations, (Federal Aviation Administration) and involved in thoroughbred racing for 39 years; he brings a unique experience level in the responsibility for the overall operation at Pegasus Training Center.
Having raced in graded stakes across America and 12 years in Southern California, Mike's wealth of experience brings the knowledge and ability to oversee the many aspects of Pegasus Training Center.
Bethea comes to Pegasus Thoroughbred Training Center with an Animal Science Degree from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. After graduating, she came to the United States and spent four years at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, focusing on internal medicine. While at Hagyard, Bethea furthered her education and became a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist.
